Cleveland Clinic Study Shows Commonly Used Diabetes Drug Increases Risk of Heart Attack and Death

An important article has been published electronically (www.nejm.org) by the New England Journal of Medicine suggesting that a drug commonly used to treat patients with type II diabetes mellitus might be associated with a risk of heart problems.

South Pointe Celebrates 50 Years

The history of South Pointe Hospital is as unique as the physicians and missions of the two small hospitals – Brentwood and Suburban Community Hospitals – that ultimately merged to form the new hospital. In 2007, South Pointe is commemorating its 50th anniversary of serving the community’s healthcare needs.
