Cardiac Rehabilitation is a program designed to help patients quickly recover from heart problems and return to full, productive lives. Once an individual recovers from a cardiac episode, Cardiac Rehabilitation offers the expertise of an exercise physiologist and registered nurse utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation focuses on developing an individual's healthy lifestyle.
The two main components of cardiac rehab are:
1. Exercise – EKG-monitored and supervised exercise training that safely conditions your cardiovascular system, strengthens muscles, improves stamina and lowers your risk for developing heart problems
2. Education and counseling – to help you understand your heart condition and find ways to reduce your risk of future difficulties
