Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a program designed to help patients quickly recover from heart problems and return to full, productive lives. Once an individual recovers from a cardiac episode, Cardiac Rehabilitation offers the expertise of an exercise physiologist and registered nurse utilizing state-of-the-art equipment. The multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation focuses on developing an individual's healthy lifestyle.

The two main components of cardiac rehab are:
1.       Exercise – EKG-monitored and supervised exercise training that safely conditions your cardiovascular system, strengthens muscles, improves stamina and lowers your risk for developing heart problems
2.       Education and counseling – to help you understand your heart condition and find ways to reduce your risk of future difficulties

South Pointe Hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation is located in Sagamore at the Sagamore Hills Medical Center on 863 - 885 West Aurora Road (Rt 82) in Building One. Patients can be seen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
