When immediate medical care is critical, rely on the experience of the emergency department at South Pointe Hospital. Along with our satellite emergency department in Sagamore Hills, we care for over 44,000 patient visits each year. We act as medical control for 10 community emergency medical services to maintain quality care in the pre-hospital setting. Each emergency is handled by our board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses specially trained to treat any medical emergency.
Our emergency department features 25 treatment rooms designed to handle everything from minor illnesses and injuries, pediatric emergencies to trauma and orthopedic emergencies. Our newly designed Thru Care area is open 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday - Friday and until 11:00 p.m. on Saturyday - Sunday. This enables us to expedite the care of those patients with minor illnesses and injuries. We offer 24-hour immediate coverage by general surgeons, as well as coverage by the specialties of orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care.
Our emergency department at the Sagamore Hills Medical Center features 7 treatment rooms and has been providing emergency care in a 44-acre campus in Northern Summit County for more than 30 years. Located at 863 West Aurora Road, surrounding communities have access to a full service, 24-hour emergency department with helicopter access. Emergencies can happen at any time of the night or day.
