South Pointe Hospital Wound Healing Center

South Pointe Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of its new Wound Healing Center located on the second floor in Building A. The comprehensive center offers chronic wound management in an outpatient setting and features two hyperbaric chambers. The center uses a multi-disciplinary approach and provides complete wound-care services to those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps, and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an adjunctive therapy used to enhance the healing of certain problem wounds. Delivery of this therapy involves a patient to breath 100% oxygen while inside a pressurized chamber. This stimulates a number of physiological responses in the cells and tissues, promoting wound healing. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is prescribed by our trained physicians.

Types of wounds treated with HBO:

  • Actinomycosis
  • Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia
