The orthopedic surgery resident program has a very thorough didactic program throughout the academic year.

 

Each morning the residents have a Morning Report, which consists of patient census review, daily assignments and presentations on various topics.
Anatomy is reveiwed along with procedures. On Tuesday afternoons, the residents meet for OITE Review.

 

The Fracture Conference is held each Thursday morning with the faculty after the Morning Report session. Radiographic studies are shown and best treatment modalities are discussed.

 

Journal Clubs are held monthly, either in house or sponsored by Pharmaceutical or equipment representatives. The chief residents choose and distribute the articles.

 

Anatomy labs and skills labs are held often with support from equipment companies. Sawbone labs are held frequently to review hardware and instrumentation.
