Physicians, dentists, podiatrists, and psychologists currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio shall be qualified for membership on the Medical Staff if they meet the following conditions:
- Document current licensure by the State of Ohio, current professional liability insurance, current professional and clinical competency, experience, background, training, demonstrated ability, and physical and mental health status, with sufficient adequacy to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Medical Staff that they are professionally competent and any patient treated by them will receive care of the generally recognized professional level of quality.
- Document board certification in your specialty by a board approved by the Medical Executive Committee or board eligibility at the time of application and obtain certification within five years of application or time specified by the applicable board. If no Board examination is offered in the specialty requested, the burden is on the applicant to demonstrate equivalent competence to board certification. This requirement will be effective for all new applicants after January 1, 2002. Existing members of the medical staff are exempt from this requirement.
